The aim of this policy is to demonstrate the commitment of The Essex Training Company to equal opportunities.


We at The Essex Training Company are committed to ensuring that everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or country of origin should have the same access to life saving first aid training. We will always ensure that our courses are inclusive and where necessary reasonable adjustments will be provided to people who may require it.


We (both as a company and individuals) deplore any kind of discrimination. All interactions with The Essex Training Company will be faire and without prejudice. Any decisions relating to employment, promotions, or contracts will be done so with the Equality Act 2010 at the forefront of our decision making.


Implementation


The Directors have specific accountability for the effective enactment of this policy. All employees, be they full-time, part-time or temporary to abide by the policy and help to create the safe and equal environment that The Essex Training Company wish to foster.

In order to implement this policy we shall:

 

  • Ensure that the policy is well communicated to all employees by making them aware of this online document during inductions and reviews.
  • The Essex Training Company will endeavour through appropriate training to ensure that no conscious or unconscious discrimination will take place during the recruitment of its staff whether permanent or temporary.
  • Incorporate appropriate equal opportunities training into all new employee inductions programmes.
  • The directors will ensure that adequate resources are made available to fulfil the objectives of the policy.

 

Complaints


Any employee or candidate  who feel they have been unfairly treated for whatever reason especially (but not limited to) if it is as a result of a protected characteristic. They have the right to write to one of the directors of The Essex Training Company. On receipt of the written complaint the aggrieved party will receive written confirmation of receipt of the complaint within three working days. Once an investigation has been completed a formal written response with be sent to the aggrieved party not more than 14 working days from the receipt of the letter. New Paragraph
