Basic Life Support (Including AED)
This is a basic 3 hour courses that includes:
- Assessing an unconscious casualty
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- The Recovery Position
- Set up and Use of the AED Machine
Prices start from £40 per head
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This is our most popular course as it is ideal for small to medium businesses who cannot afford for their staff to be off the floor for two further days.
The EFAW course lasts approximately 8 hours and can be tailor made for your business sector.
The course includes:
- The role and responsibility of a first aider.
- How to assess and incident and a casualty.
- How to manage a casualty who is breathing but unconscious.
- How to manage a casualty who is unconscious but NOT breathing normally (Inc AED)
- How to manage a casualty who is choking.
- How to manage a casualty in shock.
- How to manage a casualty with a minor injury.
- How to recognise and care for a casualty suffering common life threatening conditions such as:
- Asthma attack,
- heart attack,
- Stroke
- diabetic emergency
Course from £80 per Head
First Aid at Work (FAW)
The full FAW Course is a more comprehensive version of the EFAW. This course is 18 hours long and lasts over 3 days (18 hours) the last day having a written and practical assessment to help consolidate your learning.
Course cost £190 per head
Mental Health First Aid
This course is a mental health First Aid awareness course
which Includes:
- Understanding of MH conditions and how to recognise them.
- Awareness of what it feels like to have a MH condition.
- Emergency MH first aid for people in crisis.
- Protecting your own MH.
- First aid for people suffering self-harm.
Course Cost from £120 per head
Anaphylaxis & Auto Injector administration
Do you have a colleague who suffers from severe allergic reactions? If so, why not let us teach you what to do in case of an emergency. This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise and respond appropriately to an anaphylactic emergency.
Course Cost: will be quoted on an individual basis
Tailored First Aid Courses
We can also offer tailored First Aid packages that specifically fulfil your individual requirements or the needs of your business sector. If you are a company who's staff work at height, near deep water, with high voltage electricity, hazardous material or in other challenging circumstances, then the Essex Training Company should be your first port of call.
